Championship Gauntlet Match
“Welcome to EXTREME NORTH!” The Announcer’s voice rang through the arena as he began to explain that there was only one match on the card for the night. “This match is scheduled for one fall until all twelve competitors have entered, two competitors will begin, and all the contests will be fought under No Disqualification Rules, meaning that the only ways to advance are Pinfall or Submission” The Announcer finished their speech.
Aidan Wildcard’s music blared through the arena as he had drawn first entrance into the match!
“I imagine he’s stoked with this, he was demanding this spot earlier in the week” The Commentary explained.
Next, Chandler Sill’s music hit as he made his way down to the ring, The Prestigious drawing second entrance into the match.
“Both of these men looking to have to go the distance if they want to win, what could be the game plan?” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
“You have to conserve energy earlier, have to make your opponent slip up and take advantage, only way you can go the whole way” - David Sheller.
The bell is rung to start the match as Aidan Wildcard and Chandler Sill stared at each other down. They approach each other and lock up, Chandler taking the immediate advantage powering through Aidan’s defenses. Aidan is forced to go on the defensive as he retreats and slips out of the ring.
“Get back in here, I’m here to end you” Chandler said as he taunts Aidan. Aidan however was also gripping on a chair pulling it out and tossing it through the middle and top rope catching Chandler in the sternum and knocking the wind out of him.
Aidan jumped up the corner post and the turnbuckles launching himself into a missile dropkick against Chandler right on mark forcing him off his feet for the first time in the match. Aidan sprinted across the ring to follow up but was caught with a hellacious lifting lariat turning the Wildcard inside out.
Chandler dragged Aidan into the middle of the ring looking for the Guilty as Charged (Gulliontine Choke) however Aidan was conscious enough to pick the leg as he was being lifted and Chandler fell face-first into the mat. Aidan positioned into the Arsenal (Crossface) and locked it retching back on the head.
Chandler was clawing at Aidan’s hands and trying to crawl to the ropes, he eventually was able to withhold from tapping and reach the ropes however the submission wasn’t broken as the match was No Disqualification!
He forced himself up leveraging up against the second rope causing the submission to falter as it couldn’t really be held at the angle. Aidan is forced to put some distance between himself and Chandler, he was already sure he needed to maintain his speed advantage.
Chandler recovering against the ropes but he was seething, he was angry, willing to turn Aidan into mulch for this disrespect. He wasn’t even sure why he was this angry though, however, he would use it as Aidan charged, leaping at Chandler again. However Aidan came to realize his mistake as he was caught, swung up and over the head into a Falcon Arrow and planted into a pinfall.
“1 . . . 2 . . . 3, Your Winner by Pinfall, Chandler Sill!” The Referee called as the first match of the gauntlet had finally concluded.
The arena went deathly silence as darkness took over the arena, a single light source standing at the top of the ramp, The Ghost holding the Glow of the Graveyard as he slowly marched his way down to the ring.
Chandler was amped up and was goading Ghost to get into the ring, Ghost shot him a singular glance as he continued to slowly ascend the stairs and passing through the ropes and Chandler charged him as the Ghost was taking off his cape.
The bell was rung, however, The Ghost stepped out of the way still holding his cape now wrapping it around Chandler Sill’s throat and forcing his knee down between his shoulder blades forcing his sternum to compress against the mat, and Chandler SIll was forced to tap out with nowhere to go.
“Your winner by submission, The Ghost!”
Blue, Red, and White lights pulsed around the arena as the boxing cloaked, JKO, made his way to the arena!
“This should be a very interesting match up” - Johnnie B
“Indeed, two hard hitters with martial backgrounds” - David Sheller
The bell is rung and the match is on as they start to circle, testing their reach and looking for any signs of weakness they can exploit. JKO was confident looking at Ghost and deliberately dropping his hands at times to get him to close distance. Ghost didn’t fall for it, however.
JKO switched stances back and forth trying to goad Ghost however he bumped into the referee quickly turning to apologize however as he turned away he was caught by Ghost with a brutal German Suplex.
Ghost once more went to grab his cloak but as he tried to secure it around JKO’s throat he had got his hands through the loop and was able to slip this attempted noose and roll out of the ring and regain some composure. Ghost had followed him out of the ring and there was no reprieve to be had as both men just start wailing on each other.
Hard body shots were traded on the outside but both of them were trying to focus on striking the head looking for that knockout. Well until Ghost feints with a hook to the head and instead delivers a brutal cross to center mass on JKO which was unprotected.
Eventually, both men roll back into the ring and JKO was in desperate need of a turn around here, in his own mind trying to put the next step together in his mind but all those thoughts were driven from his mind along with his breath as he was lifted and slammed with an unholy Urange.
Ghost steps on JKO’s chest for the pinfall. “1 . . . 2 . . . 3, Your Winner by Pinfall, The Ghost!” The referee announced.
Ace’s music blasted through the arena as the next hopeful NPW World Champion made his way down to ring, Ace in the most advantageous position so far in the contest facing an opponent already having to go through two opponents.
The bell was rung as Ghost slowed the pace going back to testing Ace’s limits trying to sort out a new game plan. Ace however wasn’t here to play games and charged Ghost lifting up off his base and powering them both into the corner as they just started exchanging blows in a brawl Ace taking the advantage early as he was fresh powering shots into the ribs of the Ghost, just pummeling away. Ace took a brief moment to let Ghost sit there as he went for the finishing blow, taking out a pair of brass knuckles and put them on ready to end Ghost’s run in this match.
Ace was gloating to the crowd as he then was caught with a spear and both men were forced to roll out of the ring. Ace was still wearing the brass knuckles but both of them were recovering.Ace however was stalking around the ring ready to strike and swings a huge right under the rib making Ghost scream in pain as he collapsed against the apron.
Ace laughed a little as he heard that scream and was ready to bring down a second strike but just as it was going down it was caught at the wrist, Ghost’s eyes have gone black as he stood up and looked unfeeling. Controlling Ace’s fist, Ghost pummeled Ace with his own hand and attached brass knuckles. He then took both brass knuckles and threw Ace into the ring.
Ghost placed the brass knuckles in the ring just on the mat as he then rolled in and called Ace to his feet and just about tore him in half with a spear! “1 . . . 2 . . . 3, Your Winner by Pinfall, The Ghost!” The Referee Called after counting the pinfall.
"Dragon Guy" Billy Infamous’ music hit next as he calmly walked to the ring ready to pick the bones of The Ghost who was already looking like he was out of it, in a heaped mess in the ring. Billy Infamous entered the ring and went to pick up The Ghost and deliver the Dragon Suplex but everything went black as The Ghost delivered a brutal brass knuckle assisted uppercut right on the chin.
The Ghost collapsed into the pin on Billy Infamous. “1 . . . 2 . . . 3, Your Winner by Pinfall, The Ghost!” The Referee Called.
The Arena went quiet once more as darkness seized the building and just like went The Ghost had entered a single source of light stood on the ramp. Only instead of it being the Glow of the Graveyard and Ghost, now it was The Chosen Light and Sickboi.
“Oh no, these two have been at a boiling point since last week” - David Sheller
“They could very well kill each other in this match” - Johnnie B
Sickboi tried to make his slow walk to the ring but the anger was too much he just stopped halfway and sprinted to the ring. The Ghost’s eyes met with Sickboi he was once more filled with wrath and was ready as ever for this fight.
These two were primed for destruction as they collided in the ring, the bell was rung but this wasn’t a match only chaos. They tossed each other around the ring and were taking turns dropping pummeling shots onto the chest and head of their opponent. Sickboi would powerbomb Ghost only for him to slap the mat jump up and hit a german suplex and the cycle would continue.
Luckily the Referee had taken the brass knuckles off the table while The Ghost was in a heap and conducting his checks.
They then tumbled out of the ring and were brawling around the outside, Ghost has Sickboi postered up against the barrier and then charged at him spearing him through the barrier. Sickboi would repay the favor only a few moments later as he popped back in the crowd and launched himself back at Ghost, brawling to another part of the barricade and then giving him a stiff uppercut and then charging at Ghost as launching himself into a side facing splash, crashing through the barricade again.
Both men needed distance, to make a recovery, Sickboi had taken bad landings on both his trips through the barricade, and Ghost’s second wind had fallen through when all the weight of Sickboi compressed his chest. They crawled to what they imagined to be safety, guided by the lights of the Glow of the Graveyard and The Chosen Light.
This is when a twisted idea was taking place in their minds as they would take their lanterns into their hands, feeling their weight and rolling into the ring, now standing in opposing corners as they had their weapon’s in hand. they would both raise it to be level with their opponent’s head. There was a moment of thought as they saw themselves in their opponent. This moment of insight sent to the win as both men charged at the other lanterns at the ready.
There was the ring of metal as they tried to deflect their opponent however it wasn’t enough as the Glow of the Graveyard and The Chosen Light collided with their intended victim and both men collapsed from the concussive force.
The Referee had no choice but to begin a ten count as both men were down. “1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . 4 . . . 5 . . . 6 . . . 7 . . . 8 . . . 9 . . . 10, both competitors have been rendered unable to continue, both Sickboi and The Ghost have been eliminated!” The Referee called and two sets of medics with stretchers came down to the ring to retrieve the men.
After the medics carry out both men. The lights go out again. The lights start to pulse red. Filling the arena with an eerie glow. Sam Danger appears on the stage. Fog fills the entrance ramp as Danger walks down to the ring.
“Here comes Sam Danger. A fresh competitor who will face another fresh competitor.” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
“Question for you Johnnie. Which entity is walking down to the ring right now? Is it Sam Storms? Or is it HIM..is it Sam Danger?” - David Sheller.
“Judging based off the feeling in the air. I mean it’s gotten pretty cold in here all of a sudden. I’d say Sam Danger showed up tonight.” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
“Danger may be quite the wildcard but the next man is.. .” - David Sheller.
The music of The Unpredictable Jason Evans hits. Jason Evans walks out. Evans is carrying out a table. The fans can sense things are about to get EXTREME.
“Unpredictable is right. We are now down to the final four of this gauntlet. All four individuals are unbeaten here in NPW. ” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
“One of these four is going to be the first-ever NPW World Heavyweight Champion.. .” - David Sheller.
The fans start chantin, “N-P-W! N-P-W! N-P-W!”
Evans slides the table into the ring. Danger looks on in a trance like state. His eyes seem cold and lifeless. Jason Evans cautiously climbs in the ring as Danger doesn’t move a muscle. Once Evans is in his corner. Danger cracks a sick grin. Danger climbs out of the ring and looks under the apron. After moments of digging Danger hoists his hidden treasure in the air..
“Danger has a container of gasoline! This may be going too far...” - David Sheller.
Danger slides the gasoline container into the ring. He pulls out a matches from his pocket and tosses them into the ring. Danger points at Evans and just stands there outside of the ring.
Evans looks confused for a moment. He then proceeds to setup the table. Pours the gasoline on it and then tosses a lit match onto the table. A pillar of fire shoots up as the table goes up in a blaze. Danger is standing there with a demonic smirk again.
Evans runs and attempts a baseball slide to Danger. Danger evades the attack and then kicks Evans in the stomach. In the blink of an eye, Danger has Evans in his grip outside the ring.
Danger Zone on the cold hard concrete!
“Someone needs to check on Jason Evans” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
The flaming table continues to blaze. The heat can be felt from the fans in the front row. Danger picks up the dead weight of Jason Evans and tosses him over the second rope into the ring.
Danger climbs in. Stands over Jason Evans helpless body. Danger points to the flaming table. The bloodthirsty crowd erupts in euphoria.
Danger bends over and grabs Evans by the hair. But Danger hesitates..
“What is happening to Sam Danger. He appears to be having some inner conflict.” - David Sheller.
One moment Danger grins like the devil. The next Storms shakes his head in horror. In disbelief. Sam Storms can’t do it. He won’t let the Danger demon make him do this heinous act.
While Danger is at war with himself. Out of nowhere Evans kips up. To the shock of Sam Storms...
Evans Cutter through the flaming table!!!
“HOLY SH*T! HOLY SH*T! HOLY SH*T!”
The body of Sam Storms extinguishes the fire but Sam convulses in flesh-searing pain. Evans quickly crawls over and drapes one arm over Sam.
1...2...3!
The medics start to wheel out another stretcher. They make it to the ring. Before they can climb in the ring. The lights go out again. When they come back on. Sam Danger is gone.
“Johnnie. You and I both witnessed a mortal man get put through that flaming table. How did Sam Danger up and vanish? Human beings don’t do that!.” - David Sheller.
Jason Evans looks around confused. Evans snaps out of it and realizes he has an opportunity. He climbs out of the ring and starts looking under the apron. Evans throws in 1, 2, 3, 4 chairs. He also tosses in a black cloth bag.
The fans start chanting again, ““N-P-W! N-P-W! N-P-W!”
The music of "The Silent Servant" Daniel Cole hits. To the dismay of the crowd. They begin a chorus of boos. Jason Evans stands in the middle of the ring. Blood pouring out from his forehead from the Danger Zone he took out on the concrete. It pools and saturates a spot on the mat.
“Jason Evans is running on pure adrenaline right now. He in the middle of the ring. Standing his ground and screaming for Daniel Cole to come out” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
Daniel Cole’s music continues to play but noone comes out. Jason Evans stares facing the aisle of the entranceway. A masked figure hops the guard rail in the background. The masked man rolls into the ring. Jason Evans doesnt have a clue.
The fans start making noise at a fever pitch trying to warn Evans. The masked man stands behind Evans in the corner. Daniel Cole’s music keeps blaring distracting Jason.
The music stops. The fans are still making alot of noise. Evans turns around to look.
Leaping Knee Strike on Evans! The masked man adjusts his tie. Then rips off his mask.
“It’s Daniel Cole! That son of a bitch didn’t have the guts to come down to the ring and face Evans like a man?!.” - David Sheller.
“Cole with the Wrath of the Master. And it was probably his Master that told him to take advantage of an already injured Evans” - Commentary Member, Johnnie B
Daniel Cole looks down at Evans who is unconscious. He picks up the black cloth bag.Cole unties the string and pours out the bag’s contents.
THUMB TACKS!
Cole picks up a steel chair. He points at the fallen Jason Evans. The crowd boos Cole. Daniel Cole hesitates and then throws the steel chair down shaking his head NO.
The crowd boos Cole even more after he refused to use the chair. Daniel Cole picks up Jason Evans by the hair. Cole points to the pool of thumbtacks. Again he shakes his head NO.
Cole locks in a guillotine choke on an already barely conscious Evans. He squeezes harder and harder until the ref out of pure pity for Evans check his arm. He’s out. The ref forces the break.
“If it wasn’t for that official physically forcing Cole off of Evans. Jason Evans may have been killed in front of this live crowd. Daniel Cole is remorseless..” - David Sheller.
Two more refs show up at ringside. The gauntlet ref rolls Evans out. Jason Evans falls outside of the ring. The refs help Jason Evans up. Jason Evans regains consciousness and shoves the refs off of him.
Jason Evans slowly walks up the ramp under his own power. The crowd cheers the heart shown by Jason Evans.
Cole is standing in the ring, cole and emotionless, staring at the entrance way... there is only 1 competitor remaining...
Violence by Grimes and i_o blasts through the speakers and the crowd erupts..
It's Andi Seraph!!
The crowd starts firing green crayons into the ring and they are hitting Cole as he stands emotionless still..as the green crayons bounce off him like pellets..
The red haired firecracker rushes to the ring without hesitation, slides under the ropes and dives toward Cole who counters with a sidekick knocking her to the ground.. the crowd begins to boo furiously.. Daniel Cole picks up Andi and whips her into the turnbuckle with force.. she hits the turnbuckle and face plants to the mat.
The crowd intensifies..cole methodically circles the ring, and starts laying kicks into the back of Andi.
Andi manages to roll out of the ring to catch her breath, Cole quickly follows behind her and grabs her to whip her into the barricade but she musters up the momentum to reverse and Cole goes crashing into the unforgiving guard rail.
Andi runs at him and connects with a running knee strike and follows with a barage of kicks to a prone cole.. she rolls back into the ring and begins to taunt Cole who's slowly climbing back to his feet.. the crowd is cheering her name..
Cole rolls back into the ring and the two come face to face, they lock up and it breaks down into a test of might but Andi is quickly out powered.. and Cole tosses her across the ring.
Andi rolls onto her feet and charges at Cole who catches her with a quick overhead belly to belly sending her reeling.. Cole taps his knee as she tries to get back to her feet signaling for his running knee strike..he goes for it but andi catches him with a stiff drop kick..
Both are on their back.. Cole rolls to the outside of the ring and Andi rolls to the opposite side.. Andi scurries under the ring and Cole walks around the ring to find her, as Cole makes his way around the corner Andi slips back out from under the apron behind Cole, but what's this.. she has Barbed wire wrapped around her knee..she yells "Cole!!" He turns around just in time to get nailed with the "You've got Mail" single leg knee strike with the barb wire wrapped limb..
Cole is on the ground and bleeding..Andi picks him up off the ground and rolls him into the ring.. she follows behind and stands opposite him.. taunting..
Cole slowly climbs to his feet, his face a crimson mask, he smirks and motions her toward him "come one.. do it" she rushes at him and goes for what looks like a hurricanra but Cole reverses it into a devastating power bomb.. Cole is grinning licking the blood off his lips.. he grabs Andi by the hair.. slowly lifting her to her feet.. but out of nowhere Andi out of nowhere leaps to the air with a snap sidekick the "Learn to Code".. Cole crumbles to the ground and Andi goes for the cover.. 1.....2.....3....
"She's done it...ANDI is the first ever NPW world heavyweight champion"
Her music erupts throughout the Arena and the the referee passes her the new championship... green crayons rain down around the ring from the crowd.. Andi climbs the turnbuckle and raises the title high in the air as the show comes to an end.
